Brother Bill Sobe, a World War II veteran of the European Theater and member of Willcox Lodge #10, wasn't able to make the trip to Scottsdale for the 131st Grand Communication of the Grand Lodge of Arizona on June 6th, 2014, to participate in a special ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Europe. So...on Thursday, September 11, 2014, WB Jean-Claude Malterre, a member of the Arizona Military Degree Team, went to Willcox Lodge #10 in Willcox, Arizona to present a special award to Brother Bill Sobe for his deeply appreciated service to us and his country. Also, several other Brothers who weren't able to attend this meeting will be presented with their awards by the Lodge Master and Secretary at their homes at a later date.
Congratulations Brother Sobe, and THANKS!
Taps is one of the earliest bugle calls and was originally intended to call the soldiers to the end of their day. However, over the years, it has also become a meaningful tune played at numerous funerals, both military and civilian, to call their person "Home."
Since its inception in 1991, the Team has been fortunate enough to have Brethren pass on their photos of our team. Our own Assistant Director is also quite handy with a camera and has captured the pictures below as a pictoral record of our conferrals.
These photos will be updated as time goes on.
